THE ARTIST
Casto Albarracin
Spanish painter born in Murcia in 1992, based in Montpellier. Trained as an architect, I paint the way you build: structure first, emotion next.
My world blends expressive figuration and abstraction: pop portraits, stylised crowds, bulls and the light of the South — from the Camargue to Murcia. Every canvas seeks a presence, an immediate emotion.
All my works are one-of-a-kind, hand-painted in acrylic. I also paint on commission, tailored to each person's space and story.
INTERVIEW
Five questions to the artist
Why do you paint?
To capture emotions and make them visible. I like creating strong images, sometimes ironic, always human.
What does your architecture background bring?
A sense of composition. Even in a spontaneous gesture there's a structure behind it — that's what gives the canvas its strength.
How would you describe your style?
Contemporary, between figurative and abstract: strong contrasts, intense colour and a free gesture.
Your influences?
Picasso, above all: Spanish roots, the south of France, and a constant working energy.
Do you paint on commission?
Yes, gladly. Custom pieces, designed for each person's space, colours and story.
