Viewed from above, a multitude of silhouettes create a human landscape in perpetual motion. At the center of the composition appears a fault line, not carved into the material, but created by the individuals themselves. The border is not imposed: it arises from the crowd.
In The Fracture, two worlds face each other without truly meeting. The silhouettes converge towards this invisible line that separates them, as if attracted by what pushes them apart. The fracture then becomes the heart of the painting, a space of tension, questioning, but also of reflection on how we live together.
The work evokes contemporary divisions — social, political, cultural, or digital — while recalling an essential idea: it is human beings who draw the borders that separate them.
Entirely hand-painted using the crowd technique developed by Calbarracin, each silhouette is individually painted with its cast shadow, creating a vibrant composition that gradually reveals itself as one approaches.
