Le Gardian — 130 × 97 cm

LE GARDIAN is an original painting from the Camargue series. Beneath a broad pale hat, a direct gaze and a confident presence evoke the gardian, the traditional horseman who accompanies and herds the bulls of the Camargue.

Ochres, browns and ivory stand out against a dark background. Visible brushstrokes, contrasts and the floral motif on the jacket give the portrait a lively texture, bringing together Southern elegance and contemporary energy.

Painted by hand by Calbarracin, this large vertical portrait connects the identity of the Camargue with a free, expressive figurative approach.
